The Fox

Careless carnivore let me fatten and fill you up
Feed you my feathered heavens and messy mouthfuls of jam
Without breasts and legs and bodies full-of-fucking

There was once a girl who strangled herself with silk stockings
She wrapped her throat and nodded to sleep in that chicken house

her neck wrung warm like a snug wet rag

The truth is I never wanted to peer into that backroom basement
The grime and mire of your mind whose ticket I could not afford
Whose price was too high and my sensibilities too soft to stomach

Saw instead your subterranean shape still your star-nosed and asleep in the soil
The soft underbelly of your body you underfed and felt so much shame!

and me the goose girl giving you my bushel of eggs
